Although this is a historical romance, the meeting between Anna and Niall is
reminiscent of a contemporary first date with all of the nervousness and sexual
tension, which makes the characters more relatable to the modern reader. The
quick wit and chemistry between Anna and Niall overshadow the fact that their
betrothal was consummated within a few hours of being introduced. This is a
perfect read to finish in a single night before bedtime, without leaving you
exhausted for work the next day.
